Samira Project – Partnership

The Samira Project is a partnership project between IMECE Women’s Centre, Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women’s Organisation (KMEWO) and Latin American Women’s Aid (LAWA), commissioned by Islington Council.
The project provides holistic specialist support to women from Black, Ethnic and Minoritised backgrounds who are subject to Violence Against Women Girls (VAWG), including harmful practices such as Forced Marriage (FM), “Honour” Based Violence (HBV) and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
The Samira Project established and leads on the Islington Black, Ethnic and Minoritised women ’s Network to provide key capacity building support and improve policy and practice responses to Black, Ethnic and Minoritised women .
