We are delighted to launch our Free Tablet Scheme, in response to the challenges faced by Black, Ethnic and Minoritised women in accessing key services. The Covid- 19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges, that has a disproportionate impact on women from Black, Ethnic and Minoritised communities.
Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women’s Organisation (KMEWO) is a specialist services based in London, supporting survivors of Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) and harmful practices for other 20 years. Due to COVID -19 , a majority of courses and support services are now provided online, this has had an adverse impact on women accessing key services, including VAWG, advice, support groups, counselling and learning and employment opportunities, with many services users do not having access to a digital devices. The scheme provides free tablets with internet data to women, giving them the opportunity to access online support services, online learning, activities and employment opportunities, including econnecting within their community via social media, during these unprecedented times.Priority will be given to women who meets three or more of the criteria’s outlined in the attached leaflet. The scheme accepts self and professionals referrals. Please kindly circulate this email widely to help us reach women who will benefit from the scheme.
