KMEWO held its third year graduation party at Caxton House on the 9th of July. The ceremony was opened by Gona Saed at 11 am with a welcome speech, followed by a word form our director, Sawsan Salim, who thanked everyone for their hard work and contribution to its success. She specifically thanked the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund for their generous and continuous support.
Finally the project manager said a word about the outcome and achievements of the WLW project. Also present was the Mayor of Islington, Councillor Rakhia Ismail, who gave out the certificates and congratulated the students. The celebrations were attended by around 80 women, officials and KMEWO staff and volunteers and ended at 3 pm..
One of our students made a touching speech, saying how much KMEWO’s courses helped her advance in life, improve her English and further her education and make new friends.
After all the certificates were handed out, it was time to celebrate! Lunch, dancing and a tombola followed. Everyone had a great time.
